A new start

Ok so, here we go. Again, i guess. Why write about League of Legends? Ok, we will say that I'm now living one of the most beautiful moments in every gamers' career (even if is professional or amateur). I think is a good reason, to write about your passion, your life.

I've been playing to videogames since I was a little child. I started really early, first with 'World of Warcraft', then with Wc Dota (I also played to CS 1.6 and CS:Source but just for fun with my friends) and now 'League of Legends' has touched my heart.

It's difficult to explain the reason of our passion, how can a game captivate us. For being honestly, is not about the game. Is about the people you meet thanks to the game.

I remember when I used to play WoW (I hope that one day i'll return). I remember my guild mates. I love them. Some of those mates are nowadays my best friends. I know people from all around the world thanks to that game.  I also managed to get into some top guilds (Lots of kisses to Envy-Auchindoun). When i stopped playing, I decided to get a tattoo with the horde symbol. 9 years of fantastic times with my friends, 9 years of passion. I didn't make it because I loved the game. I made it because all the fantastic memories I have from those 9 years. I've grow up in front of the computer.

I'm actually playing League of Legends. I decided to try it after one of my friends told me about the game. I used to play Wc Dota sometimes (I remember when we used to meet on sunday afternoon in the cybercafe) so I fastly became familiarized with the game, though it was sightly different to LoL.

Season 1 was about leveling and practicing. I didn't compete or even try to play ranked games. I tried every role and champion. Until I found my favorite: Sona.

She was the second champion I played (She was in the free week champ. rotation). Although my friends told me not to play support, I was loggerhead and continued playing her. She was the second champion I bought, the first one was Taric (And yes, I bought it with that pink skin xD). And the first champion I ever tried was Maokai.

Taric, Sona and Maokai

One of the best things of Season 1 was founding a friend that I met during my WoW stage: heîN (http://www.lolking.net/summoner/euw/8419). I was in a Lan party here in my city (Euskal Encounter) when I heard about a team called 'Wizards'. By that time I didn't know anything of the competitive scene in LoL, I only have heard about 'HotShotGG' and 'TheRainMan' because my friends used to watch and comment their streams. I investigated about that team... that 'Hein' name sounded familiar to me, but I thought that it was impossible to be the same person. The last night of the Lan party, after the LoL finals were played I steeled myself and I went to talk with that boy. i remember the conversation like if it was yesterday:

-Hey... you are Hein, right?
+Yes
-And did you use to play WoW? In Zul'jin?
+Yes
-In 'No mercy'?
+Yes

(At this point I was like a jelly hahaha)

-Do you know who I am?
+You are Rosier, aren't you?

So everything became pink and the Teemos were singing in that moment. We were talking about our lives and our adventures in the videogames for all the night. He introduced me to his team and we played so many matches together that night. (I won't never forget Araneae jungling with Ezreal or TF, it was so funny xD).

(Wizards Team, from left to right: Babeta, Hein, Exterminare, Araneae and BarbeQ. The girl in the Janna costume is me.)

I remember that Hein taught me how to play Top with Irelia. I love that champion, thanks for that lessons :D

I only played a few ranked games in Season 1, so I reached Bronze Elo.

Season 2 was strange. Difficult i'd said. I had so many changes in my life... I almost stopped playing. I started playing rankeds as support and I sunk in the depths of the Elo hell.

But then I met a boy that is one of my best friends today: brolix (http://www.lolking.net/summoner/euw/21541560). He is... like a brother. I don't know how to explain, but he is very special to me. He taught me so many things about the game, he helped me to get out from the elo hell, he taught me about AdC and ApC...We scrim sometimes in 1v1 to improve my skill. So I can only say... Thanks. thanks for being my "personal trainer" :P

The preseason has been amazing for me. Now I take a look to the past and I see that i've really improved my skills as support. And i'm proud of it. I'm proud of being a support, a role that is so much underestimated, criticized and sometimes, insulted.

I haven't told yet, but I live in a town near Bilbao. There aren't too many e-Sports event here, but the 30th November and 1st December the magic of LoL invaded Bilbao: The 'Fun and Serious gaming festival'. It was just amazing! So much emotions :) I don't know how to start...

30th November, Friday: I woke up really early (Like 7.30 am) because I was very nervous. The event started @ 10.00 am. Or it was supposed, bacause by the time It started (Around... 11.00am) i had been waiting for 2 hours. That morning was about Free gaming matches. I gathered some friends and made an express team for playing. The TV interviewed me while we were waiting for the other team and the champion select.

It was an amazing game! We had so much fun together :) I played as Nunu. Ocelote (Ap mid, captain of SK Gaming), Araneae (ex SK Gaming Jungler, Wizards) and Babeta (Support in GIANTS!) were watching us so I was a bit nervous, but I finally managed to relax and enjoy the game. I won't never forget the crowd howling and screaming everytime I used my ultimate in TF (I got a triple kill in one hahaha).

Carlos 'Ocelote' Rodriguez Santiago and me, free gaming match

In the afternoon there were 3 qualifiers for the tournament on Saturday. Sadly I could only play the first one because I had to go to prepare everything for my concert (I'm a singer) of that night, and I lost. Fortunately my friend brolix was there to give me support and courage and didn't let me to give up.

The main tournament was on Saturday. 3 teams, captained by Ocelote, Araneae and Babeta had to play between them. We had so much fun watching them. There were some contest like drawing the best banner, demacian screams, LoL quiz... Teemo hats and GP oranges everywhere.

The final game was a showmatch between GIANTS! (Babeta, Exterminare, Samux, Morden and Jimbo replacing Blitx because he had some problems and couldn't go to the festival), team who won the ESL 5v5 qualifier and an All-Stars Team featuring Ocelote, Araneae, Leire (OceloteWorld Female Team), Medroid (Riot Spanish Community coordiantor) and Crower (Riot Player Support). GIANTS! won.

I hope they will return to Bilbao. Thanks to RIOT and the ESL for organizing this for us.

Season 3 has started greatly for me. I've just joined a team for facing this competitive and long season in front of us. The team is 'inVictus e-Sports' and they are Top1 in the ESL 5on5 ladder: http://www.esl.eu/es/lol/5on5/ladder/team/6962571/ From here I want to say thanks to my mates, for trusting in me and for all their support, I love you guys! I hope that we will do interesting things this season.

I also want to say thanks to my friends Viewle, WeekendRockstar, Filipny and Enderiel, teammates of SweetEmotion, our female team. Though we are quite inactive, I hope that we will manage to make a strong and stable team since Viewle and me are always on and playing together. Out botlane is too stronk hahaha, tons of damage incoming!

Thanks to everybody for reading, I hope that this blog will like and I'll be posting interviews, reviews and gameplays as well as some support guides and tips.

Lovely:

Marina 'Rosier'
